showers moving south to north across easternest virginia, virginia, maryland, the district of columbia. the heaviest rains where you see the areas of yellow on t eastern shore and north and east of washington, etern howard county getting the heaviest showers. elsewhee, scattered lig showers around the region. right now low to mid-60s parts of west virginia. and on the etern shore, low 70s. northern neck, near 70. more rain on the way. more showers coming south. conveyor belt moisture off the gulf of mechanics will bring in showers and perhaps song storms late this afternoon, overnight into tomorrow morning. individual storms could produce damaging winds tonight, into tomorrow morning. highs around 70. tomorrow we should make it to near 80. might get another passing shower on thursday. how is the monday commute? >> already getting quite busy volumewise. through green belt, that's a you have to worry about. inner loop and outer loop incident free. b.w. parkway, police on the scene dealing with those. interstate 66, lanes are open. a little activity to the far right side as you pass 123 s

hours or so. showers moving rather quickly. marching across virginia, west virginia, d.c. fom the south. areas of blue and green are generally lighter showers moving south to north. we have wet pavement around the region. that's fender-bender weather. leave early. 50s in the mountains. east of the blue ridge to the bay, 60s. bay east, low 70s. more rain on top from the southland all the way from the southeastern atlantic and the gulf of mexico. this moisture will come on through today and tomorrow. things settling down tomorrow afternoon. >> we are loading up rapidly along i-95. now we're getting the initial reports of an accident near 123 in wood ridge. look out for that. let's head over to maryland, beltway north of town loading up quickly. outer loop, connecticut. right there. as you approach route 29 on the outer loop. police are headed over there. out to the rails we o, looking good. metro, vre, m.a.r.k., all doing fine. >> the hunt is on for the gunman who shot and killed a man in prince george's county overnight. one man had been shot. he was taken to the hospital where he was pr

here and you can see shower activity into central virginia. look at the dark yellow or reds off the carolina coast. this is storm activity and some of it has been severe. all of that is lifting up fors the mid-atlantic. so later this afternoon, in addition to rain, we could be talking about the potential for some thunderstorm activity and with it, the potential for some flash flooding as we could pick up between 1-3, maybe in a few spots to the west 4 inches of rain, over the next 24 hours. and we'll get a lot of rain in the next 24 hours because the area of low pressure will lift up out of the app latchans and out -- app latchans. and 72 for you in leonardtown. our high temperatures only in the mid-70s, which is well below where we should be, with a good chance we'll see afternoon showers and thunderstorms, not just this morning but in the late afternoon. rainy, could be a thunderstorm. winds out of the south and east at 5-10. clouds tonight and rain continues, 68. winds out of the south and east at 10 miles per hour. we'll get it out of here tomorrow morning. by tomorrow after
